Glasgow City HSCP South Health Improvement Team work with a variety of partners across the South. Services provided aim to improve mental health and well being, reduce poverty, raise aspirations and develop a healthy culture (tobacco, alcohol, drugs and obesity). Health Improvement also provide additional support to the thriving places in the South of Glasgow (Gorbals, Govan, Priesthill/Househillwood and Govanhill) to foster better health outcomes for these local communities.
Training opportunities (including topics such as Alcohol & Harmful Substances, Alcohol Brief Interventions, Breastfeeding Awareness, Financial Inclusion, Gender Based Violence, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Oral health & Nutrition, Solihull (parenting), Sun Awareness, Tobacco, Second Hand Smoke and Shisha Awareness). Other services include Quit your Way (support to stop smoking), Starting Solid Sessions, Youth Health Service, Money Advice Service, Community Alcohol Campaigns, group work (including Emotional Literacy, Seasons for Growth Programme, Get Cooking Get Shopping Courses), Weigh to Go Weight management and gym programme for young people, Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme)
